In this study, you will be presented with a few short clips and tasked to answer some questions about each clip. The study should take between 5-10 minutes.

No identification information will be collected and all demographic questions are optional. You may withdraw from the project at any time, without giving any reasons, even after beginning the study. All data that you have provided will be discarded and will not be used by the research team. Project Title: Modelling Causal Learning in Social and Affective Settings

Purpose of project: This study investigates causal learning.

Who can participate in this project? What is the expected duration of participation? What is the duration of this project?

Anyone based in the United States who are at least 21 years old are eligible to participate in this experiment that lasts about 15 minutes.

How many participants will be involved?

Approximately 1000 participants will be involved in this study.

What procedures will this project involve?

You will be presented with short videos and tasked to answer questions relating to the video. You will then proceed to fill in a number of survey questions and provide demographic information (age, gender, native language, etc.).

How will participants' data be kept confidential?

All project records and data will be kept strictly confidential. No identifiable information (names, identity card or address, etc.) will be collected in this study.

What are the possible discomforts and/or risks for participants?

No risks, discomforts or injury are expected in your participation in this experiment.

Will there be reimbursement for participation?

You will receive US$8 point for every hour of participation.

What are the possible benefits of this project?

The knowledge gained from this project may benefit the public in the future.

Can a person refuse to participate in this project?

Yes, you can. Your decision to participate in this project is voluntary and completely up to you. Should you choose to participate, you can still withdraw from the project at any time, without giving any reasons, by informing the principal investigator. All data and/or samples that you have provided will then be discarded.
